Appendix B Required Disk Space for Performance Management

This appendix explains the required disk space for the performance management with Storage Cruiser.

When the performance management is being performed, add disk space as described in "Table B.1 Required Capacity for Performance Management".

Point

  • "keepingDays" is number of days for collection. The default is seven.

  • For "securedLUs", which is the actual number of LUs, performance management secures the performance information of the storage device.

    For example, if an instruction to secure the performance information of LU#15 to LU#200 is issued, the actual number of secured LUs is 256, which is LU#0 to LU#255. This is because the performance management secures the performance information of the storage device in units of 64 LUs.

  • "securedRAIDgroups" is the sum total of the following RAID group numbers.

    • The number of RAID groups where the secured LUs exist

    • The number of RAID groups that configure the Thin Provisioning Pool where the secured LUs exist

    • The number of RAID groups that configure the Tier pool where the secured LUs exist

  • Calculate the performance monitoring interval in seconds.
