Logs for systems that use the smart workload recovery feature are output to Amazon CloudWatch Logs. To detect when switcher fails, a system that uses the smart workload recovery feature must monitor the messages in the logs output to Amazon CloudWatch Logs. Check the message to see if a switching event occurred during operation.
For detailed operational procedure using Amazon CloudWatch that are required to operate a system using the smart workload recovery feature, see "A.3.1 Using Amazon CloudWatch for Operations".
For information about what to do if a switchover interruption occurs in a system that uses the smart workload recovery feature, see "A.3.2 Actions to take when switching is interrupted".
For information about viewing logs in Amazon CloudWatch Logs, see the official AWS documentation.
Note
On systems that use the smart workload recovery feature, CloudWatch Agent monitors RMS. If RMS goes down abnormally, a switch occurs regardless of the state of the cluster application.
