B.4.3 Troubleshooting Errors That Occur in ETERNUS DX series, ETERNUS AF All-Flash Arrays, or ETERNUS DX200F

Unable to detect the ETERNUS DX Series, ETERNUS AF All-Flash Arrays, or ETERNUS DX200F
  • This software uses SNMP communication to find devices. Therefore, a storage device whose SNMP function is inactive cannot be detected. The storage device's SNMP function must be started.

  • This software may be unable to automatically detect the device if SNMP Trap transmissions are set to a specific server but a server which has Manager operating on it is not set as the SNMP Trap transmission destination. Check the settings for the SNMP Trap transmission destination.

  • If the SNMP Community name is changed and the Manager is in a cluster environment, the settings on the storage device side may be incorrect. Refer to step 1 in "4.3.1.1 Setting".

  • Check that there are no problems with the settings for the storage device and its network environment. This includes network environment settings, access permission settings, transmission mode settings, and so on. Refer to "4.3.1.1 Setting" for network settings. For transmission mode settings, if transmission mode on one side of the connection is "Auto Negotiation" and "FULL (full duplex)" on the other, transmissions may being unable to be sent or slow down, so make sure that the transmission mode is set correctly.

Changing SNMP setting
  • When changing the SNMP settings, you must configure storage device side.
Refer to step 1 or step 2 in "4.3.1.1 Setting".

Timeout occurs in communication
  • Check that there are no problems with the settings for transmission mode in the storage device and its network environment. For transmission mode settings, if transmission mode on one side of the connection is "Auto Negotiation" and "FULL (full duplex)" on the other, transmissions may being unable to be sent or slow down, so make sure that the transmission mode is set correctly.

Status displayed by this software differs from actual status of device
  • When the device is under the maintenance, the status displayed with this software might be different from an actual status of the device.

  • If the redundant copy function was running on the ETERNUS DX60 S2, the overall status on ETERNUS Web GUI is "Error", but "Warning" is displayed by this software.
