10.2.4 Replacing Manually Embedded Device

When replacing manually embedded device for each device, use the following the procedure provided below to resetting the access path.

  1. Registering the new manually embedded device to this product.

    • In the case of manually embedded disk storage system

      1. On the global navigation tab, click Storage.

      2. On the Storage pane, click Disk Array(Manual).

      3. On the Action pane, click Register under Storage.

      4. Register the new manually embedded disk storage system.
        Check that the new manually embedded disk storage system is displayed on the manually embedded disk storage system overview screen.

    • In the case of manually embedded tape library

      1. On the global navigation tab, click Storage.

      2. On the Storage pane, click Tape Library(Manual).

      3. On the Action pane, click Register under Tape Library.

      4. Register the new manually embedded tape library.
        Check that the new manually embedded tape library is displayed on the manually embedded tape library overview screen.

  2. Registering a post-replaced adapter (CA) of a manually embedded device.

    • For a manually embedded disk storage system

      1. On the Main pane in the manually embedded disk storage system overview screen, click the target name.

      2. On the Storage pane, click Port.

      3. On the Action pane, click Add under Port.

      4. Registration of new port.
        Check that the new port is displayed on the port overview screen of the manually embedded disk storage system.

    • For a manually embedded tape library

      1. On the Main pane in the manually embedded tape library overview screen, click the target name.

      2. On the Storage pane, click Port.

      3. On the Action pane, click Add under Port.

      4. Register the new port.
        Check that the new port is displayed on the port overview screen of the manually embedded tape library.

  3. Deleting zoning

    1. On the global navigation tab, click Network.

    2. On the Main pane, click the target switch name.

    3. On the Category pane, click Zoning.

    4. On the Main pane, select the checkbox of the WWPN zoning of the replaced device.

    5. On the Action pane, click Delete under Zoning.

    6. Delete zoning.
      On the zoning overview screen, check that the WWPN zoning of the replaced device has been deleted.

    Note

    If you are not using "one to one" zoning, ensure that other security settings are not affected.

  4. Adding an access path

    1. On the global navigation tab, click Server.

    2. On the Server pane, click Access Path.

    3. On the Action pane, click Add (Other) under Access Path.

    4. Register the access path. For access path definition, select the following:

      • Port: Port assigned to the new manually embedded device

      • HBA: HBA logical connection to the new manually embedded device

      On the zoning overview screen, check that the WWPN zoning of the new manually embedded device has been created.

  5. Deleting the replaced device from this product

    • For a manually embedded disk storage system

      1. On the global navigation tab, click Storage.

      2. On the Storage pane, click Disk Array(Manual).

      3. On the Main pane, select the checkbox of the manually embedded disk storage system that has been replaced.

      4. On the Action pane, click Delete under Storage.

      5. Delete the manually embedded disk storage system that has been replaced.
        On the manually embedded disk storage system overview screen, check that the manually embedded disk storage system that has been replaced has been deleted.

    • For a manually embedded tape library

      1. On the global navigation tab, click Storage.

      2. On the Storage pane, click Tape Library(Manual).

      3. On the Main pane, select the checkbox of the replaced manually embedded tape library.

      4. On the Action pane, click Delete under Tape Library.

      5. Delete the manually embedded tape library that has been replaced.
        On the manually embedded tape library overview screen, check that the manually embedded tape library that has been replaced has been deleted.

  6. Subsequent operation

    After configuration, restart the server node if it does not support active configuration.
