10.2.2 Replacing ETERNUS Disk Storage System

When replacing the ETERNUS Disk storage system, use the following procedure to setting the access path.
Refer to "9.4.3 Maintenance" when the Storage Cluster function is in use.

  1. Integrating the configuration information

    1. Ensure that the configuration definition of the new device matches that of the replaced device.

    2. For the new device assign a different IP address from that of the replaced device.
      If the new device cannot be configured with a different IP address from that of the replaced device, delete all the access paths to the replaced device before the new device is detected by this product and then specify new access paths for the new device.

  2. Registering the new device to this product

    1. On the global navigation tab, click Storage.

    2. On the Action pane, click Register under Storage.

    3. Register the new device.
      On the disk storage system overview screen, check that the new device is displayed.

  3. Registering the license to the new device

    1. On the global navigation tab, click Storage.

    2. On the Main pane, click the new device name.

    3. On the Category pane, click System.

    4. On the Main pane, select the target license checkbox.

    5. On the Action pane, click Register under License.

    6. Register the license.
      On the license overview screen, check the license registration status.

  4. Deleting the access path

    1. On the global navigation tab, click Server.

    2. On the Server pane, click Access Path.

    3. On the Main pane, select the checkbox of the access path set for the replaced device.

    4. On the Action pane, click Delete under Access Path.

    5. Delete the access path.
      On the access path overview screen, check that the access path set for the replaced device has been deleted.

  5. Adding an access path

    1. On the global navigation tab, click Server.

    2. On the Server pane, click Access Path.

    3. On the Action pane, click Add (ETERNUS) under Access Path.

    4. Register the access path. For access path definition, select the following:

      • Port: Port assigned to the new device

      • HBA: HBA logical connection to the replaced device

      • Affinity Group: Affinity Group that matches the replaced device and to be assigned to the new device

      On the access path overview screen, check that the access path using the port assigned to the new device has been created.

  6. Deleting the license of the replaced device

    1. On the global navigation tab, click Storage.

    2. On the Main pane, check the replaced device name.

    3. On the Category pane, click System.

    4. On the Main pane, select the target license checkbox.

    5. On the Action pane, click Delete under License.

    6. Delete the license.
      On the license overview screen, check the license registration status.

  7. Deleting the replaced device from this product

    1. On the global navigation tab, click Storage.

    2. On the Main pane, select the replaced device checkbox.

    3. On the Action pane, click Delete under Storage.

    4. Delete the replaced device.
      On the disk storage system overview screen, check that the replaced device has been deleted.

  8. Subsequent operation

    The server node must be restarted for server nodes that do not support hot swapping configuration changes after creation of the access path is complete.

    On the server nodes that support hot swapping configuration changes, it is necessary to execute commands to perform the hot swapping configuration changes for OS and HBA drivers. For example, when the HBA driver is FUJITSU PCI Fibre Channel, chgfcctl or clchgfc must be executed.
