15.3.4 Display/Add/Change/Delete SNMPv3 User Configuration

The procedure to display/add/change/delete the SNMPv3 user configuration is as follows:
To display the SNMPv3 user configuration, perform from step 1 to step 3.
Otherwise, perform all steps.

  1. On the global navigation tab, click System.

  2. On the Category pane, click SNMP Configuration.
    The items of the Category pane change into the items concerning the SNMP communication settings.

  3. On the Category pane, click User Configuration (v3).
    The current SNMPv3 user configuration information is displayed on the Main pane.

    Information

    The ID that is displayed on the screen cannot be changed because it is part of the internal system management information. In addition, this ID is not relevant to the operation of this product.

  4. Perform the following procedures according to the operation purpose.

    For Adding SNMPv3 User Configuration
    1. On the Action pane, click Add/Modify under User Configuration.
      The information input screen is displayed.

      Point

      If you select "Both" in the Usage field, both the usage for SNMP Traps and MIB access are created simultaneously.

    2. Enter the necessary information, and then click Add/Modify.

    For Changing SNMPv3 User Configuration
    1. On the Main pane, check the target user checkbox.

    2. On the Action pane, click Add/Modify under User Configuration.
      The information input screen is displayed.

    3. Enter the necessary information, and then click Add/Modify.

    For Deleting SNMPv3 User Configuration
    1. On the Main pane, check the target user checkbox.

    2. On the Action pane, click Delete under User Configuration.
      The deletion confirmation dialog box is displayed.

    3. If there is no problem to delete, click Yes.

Note

If you change the user settings that are used for the SNMP communication settings, the SNMP communication settings for all of the devices that are using this user are changed. When the device side SNMP communication settings no longer match due to this change, an error log stating that the security level does not match is output to the event log. If an error log is output, reconfigure the user settings to match the device side settings.

Information

The user setting information that is used to configure the SNMP communication settings on the registered device cannot be deleted.
