The procedure to register the Global Hot Spare disk is as follows:
On the global navigation tab, click Storage.
The registered ETERNUS Disk storage systems are displayed on the Main pane.
On the Main pane, click the target ETERNUS Disk storage system.
On the Category pane, click Component.
The items of the Category pane change into the items concerning the component.
On the Category pane, click Disks.
The disk list is displayed on the Main pane.
On the Main pane, check the disk checkbox to register as Global Hot Spare disk, selecting disks which are suitable for the storage device to be used.
On the Action pane, click Assign Global HS under Hot Spare.
The information confirmation screen is displayed.
Confirm the information, and then click Assign.
