    Note

After clicking Next, the following message may be displayed in a dialog box.

After the operations in this wizard are completed, measure the round trip time separately.

At this time, the state of the REC path in the storage device may take time to become normal due to the network environment and the distance between the Management Server and the target storage device. If the message is output, after performing the wizard operations described in this section until the end, measure the round trip time of the REC path with the following procedure.

    1. In the REC path details screen, make sure the Status column is "Normal".
If it is not "Normal", wait until it becomes "Normal". Depending on the operating environment, it may take about 10 minutes to become "Normal".

    2. Measure the round trip time.
Refer to "9.10.14 Measure Round Trip Time for REC Path" for information how to measure it.

The measured state of the round trip time can be checked in the character string displayed in the Round Trip Time (ms) column on the REC path list screen.

Measurement of the round trip time has not been performed.

  9. The screen to select REC transfer buffer is displayed.
When using in the Asynchronous Consistency mode, select both local and remote REC transfer buffer, and then click Next.

  10. The confirmation screen of settings is displayed. Click Finish when the information is correct.

Note

  • A local device port for which "RA" or "CA/RA" is displayed in the Mode field can be selected as a remote copy route.

  • A remote device port for which "RA" or "CA/RA" is displayed in the Mode field can be selected as a remote copy route.

  • The settings of the compression ratio of REC path is enabled only when the one or more REC paths have been added.
When the deletion of the existed REC path is only executed, the specified compression ratio is not set.

  • To set a Bandwidth Limit with Web Console, both the local and remote disk storage systems must support Bandwidth Limit. Use ETERNUS Web GUI when setting a Bandwidth Limit for paths that are mixed with devices that do not support Bandwidth Limit.

  • The REC transfer buffer is set to both of REC copy source and destination ETERNUS Disk storage systems when using the ETERNUS SF system. Therefore, free space more than specified as Size is required on both of them.
As for maximum REC transfer buffer capacity of each ETERNUS Disk storage system, refer to the hardware manual.
