For devices that do not support automatic updates of the device component status, the component status of devices that are displayed in the detail dialog box can be updated to the latest status by performing the following procedures:
On the Device Status panel, click the name of the device you want to update to the latest status.
The detailed information about the status of the selected device is displayed in the detail dialog box.
Click Collect Error Data in the detail dialog box.
Note
If the selected device is a manually embedded storage device or a manually embedded tape library, the error information cannot be collected.

For devices that support automatic updates of the device component status, the latest status is automatically displayed in the detail dialog box. For this reason, you do not need to perform the above procedures. For devices that support automatic updates of the device component status, refer to "Monitoring Device Component Status" in the Storage Cruiser Operation Guide.
