The ETERNUS DX500 S4/DX600 S4, ETERNUS AF S2 series can be used from version 16.6.
For backup/replication in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 environments, the pre- and post-processing scripts for suppressing the file system updates and for canceling the suppression by using the "fsfreeze" command are provided. When the processes are validated, the backup/replication operation is as follows:
Backup
The backup is executed while the transaction volume is mounted.
Refer to "Pre-processing and Post-processing of Backup and Restoration" in the AdvancedCopy Manager Operation Guide (for Linux) for details.
Replication
The replication is executed while the copy source volume is mounted.
Refer to "Pre-processing and Post-processing of Replication" in the AdvancedCopy Manager Operation Guide (for Linux) for details.
Point
To use the "fsfreeze" command, the OS must support the "fsfreeze" command and the file system in which the volumes for backup/replication belong is ext3, ext4, or XFS.
Information
By default, the lines that execute the "fsfreeze" command to suppress the file system updates and cancel the suppression are commented out in the pre- and post-processing scripts. To perform the operation, you must uncomment the lines. Refer to the above mentioned manuals for details.
