1.2 Message Output Format

This section explains the message output formats.

Event Viewer output format

The Event Viewer screen image is shown below:

Messages are listed in [Application Log] of Event Viewer as shown on the right of the screen image above.

Event Viewer enables you to confirm details on the Event Properties window. In Event on the Event Properties window, the following items correspond to the ones output to SYSLOG:

Source:

Indicates a source name.

Type:

Indicates one of the error types below.

  • ERROR

  • INFO

  • INFORMATION

  • WARNING

Event ID:

Indicates an event ID number.

Description:

Indicates a message text.

SYSLOG output format

The SYSLOG messages are output in either of the following format. The items enclosed in square brackets "[ ]" is optional.

[UX:] Source: [Syslog message ID ]Type:Event ID:Message text

[UX:] Source[Process ID]: [Syslog message ID ][[UX:]Source: ]Type:Event ID:Message text

Source:

Either of the following is displayed:

  • Systemwalker

  • Source name

Syslog message ID:

The message ID, facility, or level is output with square brackets "[ ]".

Process ID:

The process ID is output with square brackets "[ ]".

Type:

Indicates one of the error types below.

  • ERROR

  • INFO

  • WARNING

Event ID:

Indicates an event ID number.

Message text:

Indicates a message text.

Messages Output to other than Event Log or SYSLOG

Messages output to locations other than Event Viewer or SYSLOG have different output formats. See the explanation for each message.
