10.1 Procedure for Scheduling Services and Applications

By using the service and application startup functions, it is possible to automatically start services and applications [Windows version] or applications [UNIX version] upon OS startup, according to the specified operation schedule (startup order). These services and applications can be changed based on weekdays and holidays, or for specific days, which enables various setups for different days. When the server is shut down, these services and applications are terminated in the reverse of the startup sequence.

The following describes the procedure for scheduling services and applications.

  1. Setting up the calendar

    No set up is needed when using an already-set calendar. For details, see "Chapter 2 Setting Up The System Calendar".

  2. Registering the Standard Schedule

  4. Registering the User-Specific Definition Patterns

  5. Confirming the startup type of services

Only a system administrator can set service and application schedules.
