4.5.3 Environment variable modification

To change an environment variable, execute the following command on the host:

wvSetparam <environment-variable> <setting-value>

The specified value is set to the variable "environment variable". When executed, the modified value is displayed in the following format:

Display format:

<Attribute>:<Environment variable name> <Value>
EXAMPLES:

When changing the IP address 10.20.30.41 of a primary management server

  1. Stop Web-Based Admin View on all the management servers and monitored nodes.

    Refer to "6.1 Stop".

  2. Modify settings.

    # /etc/opt/FJSVwvbs/etc/bin/wvSetparam primary-server 10.20.30.41
    sys:primary-server  10.20.30.41
  3. Restart Web-Based Admin View.

    Refer to "6.2 Restart".

If there's no operation environment variables identifying with the specified <environment-variable>, the following error message appears:

"No such key <specified environment variable>"

Note

  • The specified setting value is not checked by the wvSetparam. When setting or modifying, be aware that the setting value is proper and correct (within a valid value).

    For the effective range of the setting value, refer to "4.5.1 Environment variable".

  • To change the operating environment variables that include "sys" for attributes, set the same value on all the management servers and monitored nodes after stopping Web-Based Admin View on all the management servers and monitored nodes

  • After modifications are made, restart Web-Based Admin View. Refer to "6.2 Restart".

  • Only IP (IPv4 or IPv6) addresses can be set to the primary management server, the secondary management server, and httpip. Note that IPv6 link local addresses cannot be set to these servers.
