7.10 Login to the ROR Console is not Possible even when a Correct User ID and Password are Used.

Description

  • If SSO (ServerView Single Sign-On) is selected when installing Resource Orchestrator, automatic registration of the directory service with Resource Orchestrator may fail for the following reason.

    • When communication with ServerView Operations Manager is not possible

      When registration of a directory service with Resource Orchestrator fails, an authentication error will occur even in a correct user ID and password are entered, and you will be unable to log in.

  • When using Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication in Active Directory with a redundant configuration

    User information may not have been synchronized between domain controllers because an error occurred in one Active Directory.

Corrective Action

Refer to the following, and check if a directory service is registered with Resource Orchestrator.

  • If SSO (ServerView Single Sign-On) is selected when installing Resource Orchestrator

    • For Virtual Edition

      "13.1.1.3 Checking Directory Service Connection Information" in the "Operation Guide VE"

    • For Cloud Edition

      "8.10.1.3 Checking Directory Service Connection Information" in the "Operation Guide CE"

    If directory service is not registered, refer to the following and perform registration again.

    • For Virtual Edition

      "5.3 rcxadm authctl" in the "Reference Guide (Command) VE"

    • For Cloud Edition

      "5.4 rcxadm authctl" in the "Reference Guide (Command/XML) CE"

  • When using Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication in Active Directory with a redundant configuration

    Restore the Active Directory that an error occurred in and then synchronize user information between domain controllers.
