This section explains how to modify the settings for specifying the VM hosts and virtual storage resources to be deployed as servers using the [L-Platforms] and [Templates] tabs of the ROR console.
When the VM host and virtual storage specification functions are enabled, it is possible to specify the VM host and virtual storage to use during the deployment of a server.
It is possible to configure whether to enable these functions for each user role.
The procedure for configuration is shown below.
Point
In situations where multiple VM hosts are registered in a VM pool or multiple virtual storage resources are registered in a storage pool, enable these functions in order to enable users to specify VM hosts and virtual storage resources when deploying servers.
When these functions are enabled, the names of the specified VM hosts and virtual storage resources are displayed in the [Resources] tab of the [L-Platforms] tab and the [Templates] tab of the ROR console.
When enabling these functions for tenant users and tenant administrators, set names for the VM hosts and virtual storage resources that are suitable to be viewed by those user roles.
These functions can only be used in environments where the server virtualization software is VMware or OVM for SPARC.
If you have previously enabled these functions and registered L-Platform templates with VM hosts and storage pools specified, but now wish to disable those functions, it is necessary to first delete all L-Platform templates with VM hosts and storage pools specified, and then change the settings.
As it is not possible to delete L-Platform templates which are being used by L-Platforms, it is also necessary to delete all L-Platforms which were deployed using L-Platform templates with VM hosts and storage pools specified.
Use an editor to open the settings file.
The settings file is stored in the following location:
[Windows Manager]
Installation_folder\RCXCTMG\MyPortal\config\managerview_config.xml
