7.3 System Disk Mirroring in a UFS Boot Environment

For settings and cancelling a system disk in a UFS boot environment using commands, see "USAGE EXAMPLES" in "D.11 sdxroot - Root file system mirroring definition and cancellation ."

Note

Confirmation and information collection before/after the system disk mirroring settings

  • Check and record the partition configuration and cylinder size of the system disk and whether or not MPxIO is enabled before the system disk mirroring settings.

  • Back up the system disk after the system disk mirroring settings are complete. Also check and record the class name of the root class and the physical disk name.

  • These information will be necessary for recovery when all boot disks physically fail or when the system cannot start due to some abnormality.

See [Before the operation] in "Resolution" in "(4) System cannot be booted (Failure in all boot disk devices)." in "F.1.5 System Disk Abnormality.

For settings and cancelling by GDS Management View, see "5.1.1 System Disk Settings" and "5.1.9 Unmirroring the System Disk."
