Note

The following is the uninstallation procedure in the environment where Storage Cruiser's agent is installed on the 64 bit Windows Server 2008 or later operating system:

  • When not uninstalling Storage Cruiser's agent

    1. Stop Storage Cruiser's agent.

    2. Uninstall AdvancedCopy Manager's agent.

  • When uninstalling Storage Cruiser's agent, too

    1. Uninstall Storage Cruiser's agent.

    2. Uninstall AdvancedCopy Manager's agent.

10.2.3.1 Running Silent Uninstallation

The silent uninstallation procedure of AdvancedCopy Manager's agent (for Windows) is as follows:

  1. Log on to the target server as a user with administrator privileges.

  2. Start the command prompt with "Run as administrator".

  3. Copy the following uninstall information directory to any directory other than the directory in which AdvancedCopy Manager's agent is installed.

    programDirAtInstallation\ISSetup

    Information

Running uninstallation from the program directory specified at installation tries to delete the acmagtsilentuninstall.bat file itself and fails in uninstallation. For this reason, copy the file to any directory other than the program directory specified at installation and then run the copied file.

  4. Move to the copied ISSetup directory.

The following is an example where the copy destination directory at step 3 is C:\temp.

    cd C:\temp\ISSetup
  5. Execute the command copied at step 3 to uninstall.

For uninstallLogFile, specify the file in which to output uninstallation log with an absolute path. It is optional to specify for uninstallLogFile.

    acmagtsilentuninstall.bat [-l uninstallLogFile]

    Point

    • If nothing is specified for uninstallLogFile, an uninstall log file named "acmagtsilentuninstall.log" is created in the working directory specified for the environment variable TEMP.

    • If there is any file of the same name as the specified uninstall log file, it is overwritten.

    • It is required to specify an existing directory with write permission for the directory in which to store the uninstall log file. If it has no write permission, no error message is output in the command prompt or screen, and the process terminates with error.

    • If the path to the uninstall log file contains any spaces, it should be surrounded by double quote characters.

    • The characters " | : * ? / . < > % & ^ ; ! are not supported for path name for uninstall log file.

    Note

    • If an invalid option is specified, its corresponding error message is output in the uninstall log file and the process exits. No error message is output in the command prompt or screen.

    • Do not execute multiple silent uninstall commands at the same time. If a silent uninstall starts while a silent uninstall is executing, the silent uninstall terminates abnormally without creating an uninstall log file.

  6. On completion of uninstallation, a command prompt is displayed.
Delete the directory copied at step 3.

10.2.3.2 Checking Uninstallation Result

Check the return value from the silent uninstallation command. If necessary, check the uninstall log file. However, if the return value from the silent uninstallation command is 3 or 9, no uninstall log file is created. For details, refer to "E.6 Return Values for Silent Uninstallation (for AdvancedCopy Manager's Agent)".

The uninstallation result can be viewed in the uninstall log file, too.
Open the uninstall log file to see "ResultCode" in the ResponseResult section. In "ResultCode" is written the return value from the silent uninstallation command.

10.2.3.3 Post-silent Uninstallation Work

  1. Restart the system.

  2. Delete the agent management information.
Use Explorer or another application to delete all files under environmentDir\etc after backing up any files as necessary.

The AdvancedCopy Manager's agent (for Windows) uninstallation is completed.
