The Automated QoS function performs automatic tuning of QoS for the ETERNUS Disk storage system in order to achieve the I/O performance target values that were set in the volume by the operator.
The target values that can be set by the operator are Automated QoS Priority and target response time.
When setting the Automated QoS Priority, determine the priority of the operation and set an appropriate priority based on the priority of the operation.
When setting the target response time, set the target value with the average of the total read + write response time per volume unit time.
The respective target values have the following differences.
Target Value | System Process Overview | Characteristics |
---|---|---|
Automated QoS Priority | Set the Automated QoS Priority for the volume and adjust the relative performance. | When the total load for the disk storage system becomes high, priority adjustments can be made even if overall performance worsens. Configuration is simple. |
Target Response Time | Sets the target response time for each volume and adjusts the performance in line with the target value. | Adjustments are possible based on the target value regardless of the total load of the disk array system. An appropriate target value must be set for each operation. |
