4.2 Confirmation of Execution Results of Relocation

The execution results of relocation can be confirmed by referring to the relocation history. Refer to "Display Capacity Detail Information" in the ETERNUS SF Web Console Guide for how to display relocation history of Tier pool or FTV.

Information

If relocation is not executed on completion of Automated Storage Tiering evaluation for a multiple layer Tier pool, no relocation history based on the evaluation result exists and the generation of evaluation result displayed in the access status chart does not match the generation of relocation history.

The following table shows the generation relation when relocation is not executed for the evaluation result of one generation earlier than the latest generation.

Relation Between Generation of Evaluation Result Displayed in Access Status Chart and Generation of Relocation History

Latest generation

In this table, if you specify "1 generation ago" for Generation on the Access Status Chart panel, an access status chart based on the evaluation result of one generation earlier than the latest generation is displayed. On the other hand, the relocation history of one generation earlier than the latest generation shows the one executed based on the evaluation result of two generations earlier than the latest generation.
Therefore, you must consider mutual generation relations when seeing the access status chart and the relocation history.

The items displayed as relocation history are as follows.

Item

Meaning

Start Time

Time when relocation is started.

Finish Time

Time when relocation has finished.

Relocation Result

These are the execution results of relocation. One of the following is displayed:

Relocation history displays a maximum of five relocation results including the latest one.

The relocation result of a Tier pool can be displayed when either of the following conditions is satisfied:

  • Execution Mode of Automated Storage Tiering is "Auto".

  • Execution Mode of Automated Storage Tiering is "Semi-Auto" or "Manual", and relocation is executed from Web Console.

The latest and previous relocation results can be checked by Detail View. Refer to "Display Tier Pool" in the ETERNUS SF Web Console Guide for information on the latest relocation result and the previous relocation result.

The items that are displayed as part of the history are as listed below.
