2.1.1 Design Master Data

The design flow is as follows. For details on the input characters, refer to the Reference Manual.

  1. Divide an organization system into buildings

  2. Device each building into sections

  3. Specify an higher section

  4. Determine the information of a user who manages PCs or smart devices

Divide an organizational system into buildings

Divide an organization system into buildings and determine the office code and building name of each building. The items to be defined are as follows.

Items to be defined

Required/Optional

Design points

Input length

Characters can be specified

Building Code

Required

Design a code that is easy to identify the building.

1 to 4 digits (Note)

Single-byte numbers

Building Name

Required

Design the building name.

Up to 30 multi-byte characters or 60 single-byte characters

Single-byte alphanumeric characters
Single-byte space
Multi-byte character
The following single-byte symbols
"-", "@", ".", "(", ")", "[", "]", "{", "}", "<", ">", ":", ";"

However, when multi-byte characters are specified, only 180 bytes can be specified. English letters are case-sensitive.

Note) Though 5 digits can be entered, it is used by Active Directory, so do not use.

Divide each building into sections

Divide each building into coherent sections and determine a particular code and name to each section. The items to be defined are as follows.

The items defined in this step and the items defined in the following "Specifying a higher section" are called Section Management Information.

Items to be defined

Required/Optional

Design points

Input length

Characters can be specified

Section Code

Required

Divide each section into groups and design the codes.

1 to 36 characters

Single-byte alphanumeric characters
The following single-byte symbols

"-", "@", ".", "(", ")", "[", "]", "{", "}", "<", ">", ":", ";".

However, when multi-byte characters are specified, only 180 bytes can be specified. English letters are case-sensitive.

Specify a higher section

Specify the code as that of higher section based on the designed "Section Code". Items to be defined are as follows.

The items to be defined in this step and the items mentioned previously in the "Divide each building into sections" are called Section Management Information.

Items to be specified

Required/Optional

Design points

Input length

Characters can be specified

Higher Section Code

Optional

In the upper and lower level structure of section, etc, specify the code of higher section.

1 to 36 characters

Single-byte alphanumeric characters
The following single-byte symbols
"-"

When the higher section code is English letters, enter capital letter (lower-case letter will be registered as capital letters as well).

Determine the information of a user who manages PCs or smart devices

Determine the information of a user who manages PCs or smart devices. The items to be defined are as follows.

The items defined in this step are referred to as User Management Information.

Items to be defined

The displayed window of main menu will be sorted in the display sequence according to character code.

Therefore, when registering the Master data, the file in CSV format will be created according to the following points. Therefore, the content displayed on the main menu will be sorted in a simple way.

  • Define the beginning of user name, section name and building name in alphabet order and ascending numeric order.
