This section explains configuration required after creating an L-Server.
Setting the public LAN and admin LAN IP addresses
These are required when creating an L-Server with multiple NICs specified.
For an L-Server created by specifying a Solaris 11 image, the IP address specified as the second or successive NICs cannot be reflected to the OS.
Therefore, check the IP address configured for each NIC of the L-Server, and configure the settings on the OS.
In addition, the number attached to the end of the network interface name on the OS is the same as the index number of the L-Server.
Example
When the Index for the NIC is 1, the network interface name on the OS is net1.
Configuration of the default gateway of the public LAN and the admin LAN
This configuration is required when it corresponds to the following conditions.
When creating an L-Server with two or more NICs specified
When specifying the default gateway for a second or successive NIC
Connect to the console of a non-global zone and set up a default gateway using the following procedure.
Check the address of the default gateway set as the network resource specified during L-Server creation.
Set the address of the default gateway checked in step 1 from the OS.
Refer to the manual of Solaris for the setting method.
Permission for SSH connections of the root account (when specifying "root" for the administrator user name)
When creating the root account during L-Server creation, in the initial state the tenant administrator and the tenant user cannot log in to the OS using SSH.
It is necessary to permit SSH connections of the root account for the tenant administrator or the tenant user to enable login to the OS using SSH.
Refer to the manual of Solaris for the setting method.
Use of L-Server Disks
Disk resources connected to the L-Server are equivalent to the following data set in the global zone.
zpool name corresponding to the virtual storage/rcx/VM guest name/the diskXXX part of the device path |
The VM guest name is equivalent to the L-Server name. XXX is equivalent to the index number of the disk, without zero suppression.
This data set is mounted on the mount point/rcx/diskxxx in the non-global zone.
