For a platform created from the menu of AWS or K5, after adding a platform and before adding a service, it is necessary to create a key pair. A created key pair is used when adding the following services to a platform.
AWS: When adding a Windows or Linux virtual machine
K5: When adding a Linux virtual machine
Creating Key Pairs
Use the added [Platform Details] window to create a key pair.
Go to the [Platform Management] menu in the [Home] window and click the [To the list] link. Alternatively, select the [Platforms] navigation tab.
From the added platforms list, click the name of the platform for which the key pair is created.
The [Platform Details] window is displayed.
Figure 4.6 Creating Key Pairs
Clicking the [Create] button in [Key Pair] displays the confirmation dialog.
In the confirmation dialog, click the [Yes] button to create a key pair.
When creation of the key pair on the cloud completes, an email of creation completion is sent to the email address specified in the project linked with the platform.
After receiving the creation completion email, click the [Download] button. A key pair with the file name, "key pair name.pem" is downloaded.
Note
After creating a key pair, clicking the [Create] button allows the creation of a new key pair.
Only one key pair is retained per platform. When creating a new key pair, the old key pair is deleted. Download and store the initial key pair, before creating a new key pair.
In addition, the newly created key pair can be used to access virtual machines created after the creation of the initial key pair, but not to access virtual machines created before the initial key pair.
Use the initial key pair to access the virtual machines that were created before the new key pair.
Point
For creation of a key pair, approval is not required.
Downloading Key Pairs
A key pair is downloaded from the same [Platform Details] window used to create it.
Go to the [Platform Management] menu in the [Home] window and click the [To the list] link. Alternatively, select the [Platforms] navigation tab.
From the added platforms list, click the name of the platform for which the key pair will be downloaded.
The [Platform Details] window is displayed.
Click the [Download] button in the [Key Pair] field. A key pair with the file name, "key pair name.pem" is downloaded.
