4.1.1 Adding Platforms

To add a platform, perform the following operations.

  1. Go to the [Platform Management] menu in the [Home] window and click the [Add New] link. Alternatively, select the [Add Platform] navigation tab.

  2. From [Menu List], click the desired menu.

  3. The service contents and charges of the selected menu are displayed.

  4. Click the [Add Platform] button.

  5. Specify the details using the wizard. Click the [Next] button to proceed. Clicking the [Cancel] button discards all of the entries.

    1. Basic information

      Specify the following items:

      Platform Name (Required)

      This name is displayed in lists such as the platform list.

      Any UTF-8 format character string up to 64 characters in length, excluding control characters such as line feeds, can be specified.

      Platform ID (Required)

      This ID is used to distinguish platforms within Cloud Services Management. This item is only enabled during the addition of platforms.

      This item can only be specified during addition and cannot be modified.

      Do not specify a platform ID which has already been added.

      A character string up to 32 characters in length containing lower-case alphanumeric characters, hyphens ("-"), underscores ("_") and periods (".") can be specified. The beginning character must be a lower-case alphanumeric character.

      Project ID (Required)

      The ID used to manage the common platform between the project member and the payer.

      Specify a project of which the operating user is a project member or a project manager.

      When the operating user is an administrative user, specify from all projects added in Cloud Services Management.

      Note

      Projects which have exceeded [Limit] are not displayed in the list, and cannot be selected.

      Supervisor ID: Supervisor Name

      The user ID and user name used to identify the supervisor of this platform. When adding a project, the user who performs the addition is automatically configured. Modification can be performed after addition is complete.

      Platform Code

      Enter a code used by the platform to make it easier to link it with the system. The payer code, the serial number, etc. may be specified. If this code is omitted, the same value as the platform ID will be specified.

      Any UTF-8 format character string up to 64 characters in length, excluding control characters such as line feeds, can be specified.

      Description

      Enter a description of (comment about) the platform information.

      Any UTF-8 format character string up to 256 characters in length, excluding control characters such as line feeds, can be specified.

    2. Operation options

      Depending on the cloud vendor used and the configuration of the menu created, the operation options and configuration options that can be added will vary.

      Check the necessary options from among those displayed and click the [Next] button.

    3. Confirmation

      Confirm the content of the addition and the user agreement, check the [Agree] check box and then click the [Request] button.

      Point

      When adding a platform would cause usage charges to exceed [Limit] of the selected project, a warning message is displayed.

      Even if a warning message is displayed, it is still possible to add the platform. However, the available functions are restricted when [Limit] is exceeded.

      Consider increasing the [Limit] of charges and then adding the service.

    4. Complete

      Clicking the [Request] button in the [Confirmation] window, causes the request to be indicated as waiting processing, and a request for approval email is automatically sent to the approvers.
