C.5 File Operation Events

File operation events are those occurring when using Live Help's Client File Exchange facilities.

Please not that the "name of the logged in user" will be written for all events. The parameter is not mentioned in the table below, but it will be always added at the end of parameters for each event. The logged in user means the user who is using the Live Help software. In case of the Live Help Client program running on the Windows(R) Security dialog box, the word "SYSTEM" will be written instead of a user name since no user is logged on.

Events and their parameters are recorded to the journal file as follows:

Event: "FILEDELETE"
Describes:A file has been deleted
Parameters:Path of the deleted file

Event: "FILEOPFAIL"
Describes:A file operation has failed
Parameters:File operation, operating path and one of the following reasons:

Invalid DriveRequested drive is not valid

Invalid OperationOperation cannot be performed on target

Invalid PathPath specified is not correct

Older File Not SentExisting file newer than the one being sent

Out of MemoryNot enough memory to complete operation

Overwrite DeniedUser would not allow an existing file to be overwritten

Permission DeniedUser or operating system would not allow the operation

Read ErrorError occurred while reading

Read OnlyOperation failed because target is marked as read only

Write ErrorError occurred while writing

Event: "FILERECEIVE"
Describes:A file has been received
Parameters:Destination path of the file received

Event: "FILERENAME"
Describes:A file has been renamed
Parameters:Original path, new file name

Event: "FILESEND"
Describes:A file has been sent
Parameters:Source path, destination path

Event: "FOLDERCREATE"
Describes:A folder has been created
Parameters:New folder path
