Session Journal is a feature used to record key session events that occur when using Live Help Client, Expert and Monitor. Events recorded include all session-related functions and file operations. A history of steps taken during a session is stored in a journal file saved in a special directory on the user's system. Each journal file stores one day's worth of activity and the user can specify how many days worth of information to retain.
In order to facilitate sharing data with other applications, information in the Session Journal is stored in a standard format known as Comma Separated Value (CSV). This file format is easily viewable from various database or spreadsheet programs.
Live Help also uses basic file management functions to optionally delete outdated files each time a new one is created. Only one-day worth of information will be recorded on a daily basis to the journal file. Live Help will however keep an unlimited number of journal files. If you require fewer journal files, the number of files to be kept can be specified. By default, Expert and Monitor journal files are recorded together into a single journal file.
