B.2 Transferring Files and Folders

This section gives a quick summary of the steps you use to select then transfer files and folders. We'll use an example where you want to update files on the Client's computer by transferring files from your computer.

  1. In your File list (the list on the left of the window), use your mouse move to the folder where the files you want to transfer are located.

  2. To select a single file, click on the file and the item highlights. To select more than one file, hold down the CTRL key then click on each file. The selected files highlight.

  3. In the Client's File list, click on the folder where you want to store the transferred files. The folder name highlights.

You will notice that the Direction arrow now points to the Client's computer. If it is not pointing in to the Client, click the Change Transfer Direction button.

  4. Click the Send button to begin the transfer from your computer to the Client.
If any confirm options are set, a dialog box displays. Refer to either the section Live Help Client Options or Live Help Expert Options later in this chapter for more information about the options available.

  5. While the transfer is in progress, a status dialog box displays to both you and the Client. It shows the percentage of the transfer that has occurred so far. A Cancel button is available to terminate the transfer.

  6. The status dialog box will be disappear when the file transfer is completed.

After the transfer completes, you can transfer additional files or folders. When you have finished, click the Cancel button to close the Client File Exchange window.
