7.6.1 Remote Options

Use the Remote menu item on the OPTIONS menu to allow the Client to approve file operations and confirm file overwrites. When an option is selected, a check mark appears next to the menu item.

These options are available to address the Client security concerns.

Note

You should not set any remote options if you are going to control a server which runs without any attendees since this option shows a dialog box which asks the user at the remote computer to approve the operation. If no one approves the operation in a specific time, Live Help Client automatically denies the request.

7.6.1.1 Approve File Operations

When selected, the Client must approve all file and folder operations that affect the Client's computer. This option covers creating a folder, deleting a file or folder, renaming a file or folder, sending files to the Client's computer, and taking a copy of files from the Client's computer.

When you attempt to perform one of these operations, a dialog box notifies the Client. The Client can approve or deny the request. If approved, the operation begins. If permission is denied, a dialog box notifies you.

7.6.1.2 Confirm Overwrites

If this option is selected, the Client must give permission before any existing files are overwritten during a file transfer to the Client's computer. The Client can approve or deny overwriting the file. If approved, the file is replaced. If permission is denied, a dialog box notifies you.
