This list shows the results of compare operation. Like Windows(R) Explorer, the columns contained in this list can be resized, or sorted. They also honor Windows(R) settings for displaying file, time and date formats.
The Compare Result list contains the following columns:
Name:
This column shows the name of the item compared. It includes the relative path of the files and/or folders being compared.
Type:
This column displays the type of each file or folder. The value for type is based on known file types on the Support Specialist's system.
Difference:
This column shows the result of the compare operation. Potential values include "Same," "Only on Local," "Only on Remote" and "Different." In the case of the "Different" result, additional information is provided to show the difference in the date and time as below:
Newer on remote:
If the file existing on the Client's computer is more recent than the file on the Support Specialist's computer.
Newer on local:
If the file existing on the Support Specialist's computer is more recent than the file existing on the Client's computer.
After performing a compare operation, you can drag a file found on the Client's computer to the Support Specialist's folder tree. This will copy the file to Support Specialist's computer. Likewise, to copy a file in the Compare Result list to the Client, you can drag a file found on the Support Specialist's computer the Client's folder tree.
