There are two path drop down lists in this bar. They display both the current path of the local file system and the current path of the remote file system. You can navigate within the file system by dropping down the list and selecting another folder or drive. Once you make a selection from the drop down list, the folder tree is updated to show the current path.
The path bar can be enabled or disabled by selecting Path Bar from the VIEW menu.
