2.1.4 Transfer facilities

In addition to application and screen sharing, use Live Help's transfer facilities to exchange information with session members. You can send files, a text message, or the contents of the Clipboard.

If there are other Help Desk Personnel in the session, the transfer facilities allow you to send information to all or selected members.

Transferring a file is a good way to distribute a new version of software to the Client. With Client File Exchange, you can transfer files to the Client, or take copies of files from the Client's computer. A dialog box displays a list of your files and folders on top of a list of the Client's files and folders. It is easy to navigate to different places within either file system using your mouse. You choose the files you want to transfer, and specify the destination on the recipient computer.

You can either send your Clipboard or receive the Client's Clipboard. The data, whether text or graphics, is transferred directly to the recipient's Clipboard. Once in the Clipboard, the information can be pasted into any Windows(R) application.

You can also send a text message to someone without disturbing the other members. This feature is useful for private side conversations with other Help Desk Personnel.
