8.4 Making Job History Output

The history and operation result information of jobs submitted to Systemwalker Operation Manager can be output to files.


Displaying demand job history

Demand job execution histories can be output to log files. In these log files, histories of all jobs including scheduled jobs are output.

Outputting Log Files

The history of jobs submitted from the Systemwalker Operation Manager window is saved in log files.

The log files are created on daily basis, which means that one file is created per day. The log files are kept for seven days by default. The log files are automatically created after installing Systemwalker Operation Manager. To change the directory where the log files are created or the range of time the log files are kept, use the Log sheet of the Define Operating Information window.

Procedure

  1. Displaying the Define Operating Information window

    Click Operating Information in the Systemwalker Operation Manager Environment Setup window.

  2. Selecting the Logging sheet

    Select the Logging sheet to define the execution history information and operation result information of jobs.

    Save job execution history information:

    This check box is always checked. Saved Directory and Retention of the log files can be specified.

    Save operation results information:

    Use this option to save the operation result information. Saved Directory and Retention of the operation result information can be specified.


Since the log files have binary attributes, they cannot be browsed directly. To browse the log files, format and output them as standard output using the mjsview command. For details of the command, see the Systemwalker Operation Manager Reference Guide.


Output of operation result information files

Operation result information for jobs can be output in the CSV format as operation result information files. To save operation result information files, specify in the Log sheet of the Define Operation Information for the Job Execution Control. Operation result information files are created on daily basis, which means that one file is created per day. For how many days the operation result information files should be stored can also be specified in the Log sheet of the Define Operation Information for the Job Execution Control.
