7.1.1 Execution Status Monitoring

The execution status of business operations can be monitored by monitoring job nets, jobs, and queues.

Determine which monitoring method to use, depending on your objective.

Monitoring jobs/job nets

The following table describes the methods for monitoring the execution status of jobs and job nets.

Objective

Monitoring content

Window used

Overall monitoring using the time chart format

Check the status and the execution schedule of all job nets to be started today. Use the time chart format with the current time in the center.

Gantt Chart window

Check details of a particular job net

Check the details of the execution status of a specific job net while it is being monitored using a Gantt chart. For example, check the following information or the precise time in hours, minutes, and seconds:

  • List of jobs that constitute the job net

  • Previous job net execution results (start time and end time)

  • Next scheduled start time

  • Message event occurrence etc.

Job List window

Check job nets with specific status values displayed in a list

Check various details, such as the scheduled start time and end time displayed in a list, to monitor those job nets. This method can also be used to:

  • Batch-operate multiple job nets.

  • Filter the job nets to be displayed.

For example, when executing a large number of job nets, you can specify the "Waiting" status to filter the job nets to be displayed and check if all job nets for today have been completed.

  • When using memos for notes on operations or handover information from the previous operator, you can monitor job nets while checking the memo information.

Job Net Management window

Monitor the job net status using a flow diagram

Check the status of jobs that constitute a job net by using a flow diagram.

For example, if a job net terminates abnormally or is delayed, use the flow diagram to check the point (job) where the job net terminated abnormally or which job the job net has progressed to.

Monitor Job Net window

Refer to "Monitoring Jobs/Job Nets" and "Monitoring Scheduled Jobs" in the Systemwalker Operation Manager User Guide for details.

Monitoring queues

The following table describes the methods for monitoring queues.

Objective

Monitoring content

Window used

Overall monitoring of queues

Monitor the operational status of all queues on the server, including information, such as the number of jobs executing and the number of jobs waiting in each queue

View Queue Status/Operate window

Check the detailed information about a queue

Check information, such as the detailed information about a queue and the statuses of the jobs in a queue

View Queue Details dialog box

Refer to "Monitoring Queues" in the Systemwalker Operation Manager User Guide for details.
