Before determining the startup schedules for job nets, first start by determining the day change time (operation start time for one day) for the system.
Normally, the date changes from one day to the next at midnight (00:00), but with Systemwalker Operation Manager, the time when the date changes can be set to any desired time.
The day change time can be set one per system, and is set to "00:00" when Systemwalker Operation Manager is installed.
Consider altering the day change time in the following situation:
To adjust the day change time to match the schedule, such as treating job nets that will actually be executed tomorrow as though they are executed today for operational purposes
Suppose, for example, that there is a data center where the processing for batch jobs is often delayed until the following day. In this case, scheduling jobs becomes complicated because jobs relating to the batch job processing need to be scheduled, taking into account the date changeover. In cases like this, by altering the day change time to a later time and making it appear that the batch job processing finishes on the same day that it starts, it is easier to schedule and monitor jobs.
Note that the day change time is set in the SYSTEM_CALENDER. Refer to "3.1 Using the SYSTEM_CALENDAR" for details on the SYSTEM_CALENDAR.
Note
If the day change time is altered after schedules, such as power schedules or job net schedules, have been set up, this can have serious consequences, such as changes to the power schedules or job net schedules that have been set up. To alter the day change time, consider carefully so as not to make the alteration during operations or after settings have completed. Then, configure settings in the following order:
1. Set up the SYSTEM_CALENDAR (working days, holidays, and the day change time). 2. Set up power schedules. 3. Set up schedules for job nets. |
Refer to "5.1.1 Effects of Altering the Day Change Time" for details on the effects of altering the day change time.
