4.7.1 Tape Library Device ETERNUS LT250/LT270

This software supports all functions except for performance monitoring for ETERNUS LT250 and ETERNUS LT270.

Note that this software does not support automatic device detection function. To detect ETERNUS LT250 or ETERNUS LT270, enter the IP address for the device in a device search.

  1. Connecting to the network

    Make the required settings for ETERNUS LT250 or ETERNUS LT270 to connect to a network, and then connect to the network.
    When connecting to the network, start up the SNMP Agent function.
    Refer to the manual provided with the ETERNUS LT250 or ETERNUS LT270 for details on the setting method.

  2. Community settings in SNMP environment settings

    Specify "public" as the Community name (GET).
    It is possible to change the Community name this software uses for a device from the Web Console.

  3. Device name setting (SysName) in SNMP (Agent) environment settings

    Register nicknames for managing ETERNUS LT250 or ETERNUS LT270.
    This software uses this value as SysName.

  4. SNMP Trap setting

    Manager does not add the SNMP Trap send destination address to a device.
    Set the SNMP Trap send destination address to the IP address for the Management Server on which this software is running, using management software for ETERNUS LT250 or ETERNUS LT270.
    For the Management Server in a cluster configuration, the logical IP address of the cluster must be set.

  5. Access path setting and display

    This software does not set the Fibre Channel Interface for ETERNUS LT250 or ETERNUS LT270, but displays access paths by using SwitchZoning or StorageAffinity on the server node.
    When setting the Fibre Channel Interface, use management software for ETERNUS LT250 or ETERNUS LT270.
