This software supports fault management and linkage to the Management Software for NetApp FAS Series and V-Series. Embed a device and register its IP address by referring to "5.2.6 Registering Manually Embedded Device".

  1. Connecting to the network

Make the required settings for the cache server NetApp FAS Series and V-Series to connect to a network, and then connect to the network.
Refer to the manual that comes with the NetApp FAS Series and V-Series unit for details on how to connect to a network.

  2. Activating SNMP

The device polling function uses SNMP to acquire the device status of the NetApp FAS Series and V-Series. Enable the SNMP function so that device information can be acquired using SNMP. Refer to the manual that comes with the NetApp FAS Series and V-Series unit for detailed information on making settings.

If the SNMP Community name is default, this software uses the Community name "public." However, it is also possible to specify the Community name. It is possible to change the Community name this software uses for a device from the Web Console.

  3. SNMP Trap setting

Make the required settings on the NetApp FAS Series and V-Series unit so that SNMP Traps of the NetApp FAS Series and V-Series unit will be sent to the Management Server.
If the Management Server is defined as a cluster, the logical IP address of the cluster needs to be set.

  4. Management software cooperation

Use the attached management software for device management such as checking the detailed device status of the NetApp FAS Series and V-Series unit and the various settings. The management software can be called directly from the Web Console. As management software, setup the following IP address with the Web Console in advance:
