6.1.8 Assign ETERNUS Disk Storage System Volumes to Server

The procedure to assign volumes of ETERNUS Disk storage system to a server is as follows:

  1. Select Server

  2. Select HBA and Port

  3. Assign Volumes to the Server


The procedure to assign volumes of ETERNUS Disk storage system to a server is as follows:

  1. On the global navigation tab, click Storage.
    The registered ETERNUS Disk storage systems are displayed on the Main pane.

  2. On the Main pane, check the target ETERNUS Disk storage system checkbox.

  3. On the Action pane, click Assign Volume under Wizard.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Click the target server radio button.

  6. Click Next.

  7. To set the zoning, check "Yes" of the Zoning Setting radio button.
    Only when the license of ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser Standard Edition is registered, the Zoning Setting radio button can be checked.

  8. Click the target HBA checkbox.

  9. Click Connect to select a port of the ETERNUS Disk storage system to be connected.

  10. Click Next.

  11. Select a volume to be assigned in either of the following tabs.
    Only when the ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser Standard Edition license is registered, Affinity/LUN Group tab can be clicked.

    For Using [Select Volume] Tab:
    1. Check the target volume checkbox to be added from the volume list.

    2. Click Add.

    For Using [Select Affinity/LUN Group] Tab:
    1. Check the target Affinity/LUN Group radio button to be assigned from the Affinity/LUN Group list.

  12. Click Assign.

Note

  • If volume assignment fails, it is possible that the zoning was partially successful. The failure may be due to a temporary communication problem. Retry the volume assignment.

  • In an environment where BS2000 is connected to an ETERNUS Disk storage system, do not change the affinity group for BS2000.
