This section explains the preparations for setting up servers.
In addition to the operations in "Chapter 8 Defining and Configuring the Server Environment", the following operations are necessary.
Preparations for OVM for x86 3.2
Install and configure Oracle VM Manager
Necessary for management of VM hosts and L-Servers.
After installing Oracle VM Manager, create a server pool, and register resources.
When installing a VM host on an L-Server, refer to "Appendix D Installing VM Hosts on Physical L-Servers" in the "Setup Guide CE".
Enable ssh connections
For Oracle VM Server for x86, configure the settings using a root account so ssh connections are available.
Register a virtual NIC in Oracle VM Manager
Register virtual NICs in Oracle VM Manager.
In this procedure, register the number calculated using the formula: number of L-Servers to be created * 8(*1) + 30(*2) * 31(*3)
*1: 8 is the maximum number of NICs which can be connected to an L-Server
*2: The maximum number of L-Servers that can be created simultaneously using ROR
*3: 31 is the maximum number of NICs which can be connected to a template as Oracle VM
