The following two installation methods of ETERNUS SF Manager for Solaris are available:
Default install
Install ETERNUS SF Manager by using the default values described in "D.2 Install parameters (for ETERNUS SF Manager)".
Custom install
Install ETERNUS SF Manager by using the modified default values of the installation information (port number for the communications service, character code, and so on).
Define the installation information to the install parameter file. Specify the install parameter file to which the installation information has been defined when executing the install shell.
Refer to "D.1 Install parameter file (for ETERNUS SF Manager)" for information on the install parameter file.
Refer to "D.2 Install parameters (for ETERNUS SF Manager)" for information on the install parameter.
The installation procedure of ETERNUS SF Manager for Solaris is performed as follows:
Note
Perform the following operation before installing ETERNUS SF Manager.
Check and make sure that the system is set to use a shadow password.
Register the user who performs the database access for repository to the operation system.
Refer to "3.1.5 Registering the repository access user (for Solaris and Linux)" for details.
You cannot change the install directory during the installation.
Do not rename, change, and delete the install directory after the installation.
When Symfoware has already been installed, perform the following procedure:
Stop the process of Symfoware/RDB, WebDBtools, and RDA-SV temporarily.
Install ETERNUS SF Manager (for Solaris).
Restart the process of Symfoware/RDB, WebDBtools, and RDA-SV.
In the process of the installation, a user account "esfpostgres" is created on the operating system. This account is internally used by the ETERNUS SF system.
Do not change and delete this account because it is necessary to operate the ETERNUS SF system.
Log in to the server as a superuser.
Make sure that the local file system is mounted.
If the local file system is not mounted, execute the following command to mount the local file system:
# /usr/sbin/mountall -l
Insert the DVD-ROM "ETERNUS SF SC/ACM Mediapack for Solaris (Manager Program) (2/2)" for this version into the DVD-ROM drive.
Mount the DVD-ROM.
In the following command execution example, the device name of DVD-ROM drive is /dev/dsk/c0t4d0s0. The device name for the DVD-ROM drive, however, may be different for your particular device.
# mount -F hsfs -o ro /dev/dsk/c0t4d0s0 dvdromMountPoint
Change directory in which the install shell is stored.
# cd dvdromMountPoint/Manager_unix
Execute the install shell.
For default install:
# ./esfinstall.sh
For custom install:
Specify the absolute path name of the install parameter file edited in advance for installParamFile.
# ./esfinstall.sh -s installParamFile
