3.4.2 Setting up SSH Communications

To use operation components that use SSH communications, follow the steps below:

  1. Prepare an account for remote connections (login).

    Prepare an account with administrator privileges (the "root" account or an account that belongs to the "Administrators" group).

  2. Open a hole in the firewall for the port used for SSH.

    Port used by SSH: 22/TCP

  3. Start the SSH service.

    Install the following SSH function if it is has not been installed.

    [Windows]

    Install OpenSSH (Cygwin OpenSSH V1.7 or later).

    [Linux] [Solaris]

    If SSH has not been installed as one of the standard functions of the operating system, install OpenSSH.

    Refer to the SSH manual for information on how to install OpenSSH and start the service.
