Procedures for upgrading the Management Server/Master Management Server from the old Systemwalker Desktop Keeper to V14.2.0 are described through the following 2 patterns:
When newly install Systemwalker Desktop Keeper V14.2.0, please refer to “Chapter 2 Installation”

For security, please back up before version upgrade
After version upgrade, database for saving product assets and user assets will be updated. Thus, it is recommended to back up all environments before version upgrade in order to prevent unexpected errors.
For backup, please refer to “Chapter 3 Maintenance ”.

OS where version upgrade cannot be performed
Version upgrade cannot be performed in the following OS:
Windows® 98
Windows® ME
Windows NT®
Windows® 2000
The Log Viewer and the Client (CT) V13.0.0 or later cannot be operated in Windows® 98 and Windows® ME.
The Client (CT) V14.2.0 or later cannot be operated in Windows NT®.
The (Master) Management Server, Management Console and Client (CT) V14.2.0 or later cannot be operated in Windows® 2000.
Note
Backup operation after version upgrade
The old backup command cannot be used after version upgrade. Please use the backup command of V14.2.0.
The backup command has been modified in V12 or later, so please modify the schedule under the condition that all of the following conditions are met. Please confirm that the backup command can be called correctly after modification.
For changes of the backup command name, please refer to “Backup Command” of “4.10 List of Incompatible Items”.

Whether data can be transferred can be confirmed in advance
When upgrading from V13, confirm that there is available database capacity required for database transfer before version upgrade.
Procedures for confirmation are as follows:
Place the product CD into Management Server/Master Management Server V13.
Please execute the command line, modify the current drive as the one for placing the product CD.
Please execute the following command.
D:\>Win32\DTKServer\DBTool\SWDTK_DBCV.exe 14.2 /CK
When placing the product CD into D: drive
The execution result of the command will tell whether the data can be moved, the current use status and the available capacity required for transfer.
Besides, this command (SWDTK_DBCV.exe) can be copied to any folder for use. When copying to any folder, please modify the current folder as the copied folder and then execute.
