3.1.1 Perform Operation Settings of Client

This section describes the settings of collection condition of PC information.

The operation procedure is as follows.

1. Log in to the Main Menu, click [Environment Setup].

   →The [Environment Setup] window will be displayed.

2. Click [Policy Group Management].

   →The following window will be displayed.

   

3. Click the [Customize Various Policies] button.

   →The following window will be displayed.

   

4. Click the [Basic Operation Policy] tab.

   →After clicking the link of policy name, the following window will be displayed.

   

5. Click the [Common Settings] tab, set the following items.

   Item	Description
   [Interval of Checking policy]	Set the time interval for confirming the newly arrived information after the client PC is connected to the upstream server in minutes. Please specify a value within 30~1440. The inventory collection function and automatic patch installation function run according to this setting. When the network bandwidth is narrow or to reduce the server load, please modify the set value. The initial value is 180 minutes. The initial timing of new arrival confirmation takes this value as the maximum for decentralization.
   [Timing for confirmation during logon]	Specify the maximum time from logon to Windows till the new arrival confirmation. Please specify a value within 0~180. When specifying a value except 0, the actual time from logon to Windows to the confirmation of newly arrived information will be decentralized according to a random number between 0 to the maximum time. The initial value is 0 minute. The maximum is n minutes later from logon To decentralize the following confirmation timing, please select the check box. Decentralize the timing of confirming software from client Decentralize the timing of confirming security patches from client

6. Click the [Inventory Information] tab.

   →The following window will be displayed.

   

7. Set the following items.

   Item	Description
   [Specify Date of Inventory Collection]	Specify the day of a week and time frame to perform inventory collection. If "Everyday" is selected, then inventory information will be collected everyday. If "Specify a day of a week" is selected, collection of inventory information will be performed in the day selected from Monday to Friday. The initial value is "Everyday".
   [Specify Hour(s) of Inventory Collection]	Specify the existence of time frame to perform inventory collection and the time frame. If "Yes" is selected, then information collection will be performed in specified time frame and when the user logs in to the client PC. If "No" is selected, then inventory collection will be performed when the user logs in to the client PC. The initial value is "No'. For the timing of collecting inventory information, please refer to “3.2.9 Timing of Collecting PC Information of Collecting PC Information”.
   [Conditions of inventory information collection according to CPU Usage]	If "Collect during low CPU Usage only" is selected, inventory information will be collected only when the CPU utilization of PC is low. If "Collect without considering CPU Usage", inventory information will be collected regardless of CPU utilization of PC. The initial value is "Collect without Limit of CPU Utilization". Under the status of high load work such as business, starting inventory information collection can be prevented.

8. After setting the collection condition of software operation status, the connection of software operation status will be started after logging in to Windows again on CT. Other information will be collected according to the set schedule.

   Click [Settings of Collected Item(s)], the following items will be displayed.

   

   Set the following items.

   Item	Description
   [Collection of EXE Information]	If "Yes" is selected, then the information of all executable files (file with .exe extension) in the build-in hard disk of each PC will be collected. If "No" is selected, then the information of executable file will not be collected. The initial value is "No". The executable files contained in hard disk or flash memory connected through USB, CD-ROM drive, DVD-ROM drive and network drive will be not collected as EXE information. Collection of EXE information will always be executed by "Differences".
   [Collect Software Operation Status]	If "Yes" is selected, then the software operation status will be collected. If "No" is selected, then software operation status will not be collected. The initial value is "No".
   [File Collection]	Specify whether to collect random file from the hard disk of each PC and accumulate on server. If "Yes" is selected, then the specified file will be collected. If "No" is selected, then the specified file will not be collected. The initial value is "No". Set the file name to be collected Specify the file name to be collected. Please specify the file name with the absolute path that contains drive name. In addition, the files with same name cannot be specified even if they are saved in different folders. Note When collection is performed after specifying the file under the System32 folder in the Windows system directory for [Collection File Name], the following files will be collected according to OS. Example of setting: C:\Windows\System32\test.txt When file collection is performed on 32-bit OS, the files under the following folder will be collected according to specification. C:\Windows\System32\test.txt When file collection is performed on 64-bit OS, redirection will be performed automatically according to the function of OS and the files under the following folder will be collected. C:\Windows\SystemWOW64\test.txt
   [Collection of Registry Information]	Specify whether to collect the registry content of each PC. If "Yes" is selected, then the specified registry information will be collected. If "No" is selected, then registry information will not be collected. The initial value is "No". Collection Item Name Please specify any name that is easy to manage within 60 characters. Key Name Specify the registry key name to be collected within 240 characters. Please specify the registry key under the key shown as follows. \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \HKEY_USERS \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE64 Value Name Specify the registry value name to be collected within 240 characters. The types of registry key value can be collected are as follows. ・REG_BINARY ・REG_DWORD ・REG_MULTI_SZ ・REG_SZ Note When collecting the registry value of CT, if the "Value Name" of collection condition is omitted ("(Standard)" or "(Regulated)" is specified), the collection result will vary depending on OS according to the following conditions. [Condition] When the "Key Name" and "Value Name" of registry collection condition exist but the data of value does not exist. [Collection Result] When [Registry Information] is viewed from [Inventory Information] of the Main Menu, [Collection Item Name] will not be displayed. The key named “\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE64” does not exist. When CT runs on the Windows of 64-bit OS, to collect the key value under the “\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software” registry key, redirection of Windows will be performed and it will be the value of key specified under “\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432node” that is actually collected. For the key not to be redirected through this registry redirection, but to collect the key value under the specified key, please specify “\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE64”.
   [Operation Log Collection]	Specify whether to collect the simple operation logs of each PC. If "Yes (Notify server)" is selected, then the simple operation log on CT will be recorded in the simple operation log file and this information will be notified to server during the collection of inventory information. Through notifying the server, the simple operation log file on CS will be collected and the required disk capacity will be increased, but collective management of logs can be performed on CS. If "Yes (Do not notify server)" is selected, the simple operation log information on CT will be recorded in the simple operation log file, but will not be notified to server as inventory information. To confirm the recorded log information, it is required to confirm through the simple operation log on CT. If "No" is selected, then simple operation log will not be collected. Even if this item is in selected status, the past simple operation logs saved on CS or CT will not be deleted. The initial value is "No". Note Since it will increase the required disk capacity of CT and CS, this function is disabled in factory settings. To enable this function, it is required to perform policy settings. If "Yes (Notify server)" is selected, the required disk capacity will be increased.

9. Confirm the settings, and click the [Apply] button.

   →The set content will be saved.
   On CT, the function will be enabled after the modified policy is received.
