Starting the Ping Monitor Function
Use the hanetpoll command to start the ping monitor function. When you start the ping monitor function, the ping monitor settings take effect.
Note that you must be a member of the Administrators group to execute hanetpoll.
Note
To ensure that ping monitoring is successful, make sure that an IP address is set for all virtual adapters before starting the ping monitor function.
To use ping monitoring, make these settings for all physical adapters that are bundled in the virtual adapter. You cannot make these settings only for a single physical adapter in the bundle. If you have made the settings for only one physical adapter, an error message (ID: 20052) will be displayed when you start the ping monitor function. In that case, restart the ping monitor function after making ping monitor settings for all physical adapters.
The following example shows how to execute the hanetpoll command and gives a sample result:
> hanetpoll on FJSVhanet: INFO: 00000: The command ended normally. |
Information
If you restart Windows with the ping monitor function started, the ping monitor function starts automatically the next time you start GLS.
Stopping the Ping Monitor Function
You may need to stop the ping monitor function, for example to change the ping monitor settings. Use the hanetpoll command to stop the ping monitor function. When you stop the ping monitor function, the ping monitor settings have no effect.
The following example shows how to execute the hanetpoll command and gives a sample result:
> hanetpoll off FJSVhanet: INFO: 00000: The command ended normally. |
Information
If you deactivate virtual adapters by executing the stphanet command, the ping monitor function stops.
Even if you stop the ping monitor function, transmission paths are still switched in the event of a linkdown.
