3.4 Installation procedure of ETERNUS SF Manager (for Linux)

The following two installation methods of ETERNUS SF Manager for Linux are available:

Default install
Install ETERNUS SF Manager by using the default values shown in " Table 3.7 Install parameters for ETERNUS SF Manager (for Linux)".

Custom install

A file which contains the information shown in "Table 3.7 Install parameters for ETERNUS SF Manager (for Linux) " is referred to as "install parameter file".
For custom install, character code, port number and values for DB setup in the install parameter file are changed.

Note: When Management Server has two or more IP addresses, specify IP address that can communicate to Management Server from all AdvancedCopy Manager's agents.

The installation procedure of ETERNUS SF Manager for Linux is performed as follows:

Point

Even after the database is created, keep using a shadow password and continue the operation.
If an IP address for Management Server is not specified in the install parameter file, the IP address for Management Server is set automatically during the installation. After the installation is completed, change the IP address if required. For the information on how to change an IP address, refer to "Changing the IP address of Management Server" in "ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Operation Guide (for Linux)".
The user information registered in "3.1.5 Registering the repository access user (for Solaris and Linux) " is set automatically as the user who performs the database access for repository. After the installation is completed, change the user information if required. For the information on how to change the user information, refer to "Change of password or deletion of the user who was specified as the repository access user" in "ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Operation Guide (for Linux)".

Log in as "root (superuser)" on the server on which to install ETERNUS SF Manager.
Make sure that the local file system is mounted.
If the local file system is not mounted, execute the following command to mount the local file system:
# /usr/sbin/mountall -l
Insert the DVD-ROM "ETERNUS SF SC/ACM/Express V15.0 Mediapack for Linux (Manager Program)" or "ETERNUS SF SC/ACM/Express V15.0 Mediapack for Linux 64bit (Manager Program)".

Mount the DVD-ROM.

# mount /dev/cdrom <DVD-ROM mount point>

For custom install, edit the install parameter file.
The install parameter file is stored in the following directory. Copy to any directory and edit.
<DVD-ROM mount point>/Manager_unix/install_parameter.txt
Change directory in which the command for installation is stored.
# cd <DVD-ROM mount point>/Manager_unix
Execute the install shell.
- For default install
  # ./esfinstall.sh
- For custom install
  Specify absolute path name for the install parameter file which edited in step 5.
  # ./esfinstall.sh -s <absolute path name for the install parameter file>

Installation information is displayed.
To continue installation, enter "y". To stop the installation, enter "q".

After installation is completed successfully, the following message is displayed.
INFO: ETERNUS SF was installed successfully.
If an error occurs during installation, the following message is displayed and no software that configure ETERNUS SF Manager are installed.
- When port numbers are overlapping.
  ERROR: The specified port number is duplicate with following service.: foo 9855/tcp ERROR: Installation has failed.
  Way of handling: Set the install parameter file not to overlap the port number and perform the custom install (Refer to step 7).
- When FJSVccm, for example, is already installed.
  ERROR: The following product has been already installed on this system.: ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module ERROR: Installation has failed.
  Way of handling: Uninstall the installed software (In this case, FJSVccm).
Change directory into other than DVD-ROM. The example is shown below.
# cd
Unmount the DVD-ROM and eject the DVD-ROM.
# umount /dev/cdrom # eject cdrom

Installation for ETERNUS SF Manager (for Linux) is completed.

Point
