If ERROR parameter is 2 (CreateFile), and you are operating on Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2:
The volume in which the error occurred might be offline - in this case, bring it online.
For details on how to do this, refer to "Notes about the online/offline status of disks" in the "ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Operator's Guide (for Windows)".
Error code 5 (FSCTL_LOCK_VOLUME) occurs when a volume with an error is used by another process (i.e., an application or service). In such a case, stop the process that is using the volume with an error, and then re-execute. Use the handle.exe tool published at the following URL in order to identify processes that are using the volume:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/utilities/handle.mspx
For example, to identify processes that are using the E: drive, execute "handle.exe E:" from Command Prompt.
Note that from AdvancedCopy Manager 14.0, in the case of an error code 5 (FSCTL_LOCK_VOLUME), a function is provided to collect data in order to identify which processes are using volume targeted for processing. This is performed by executing an investigation tool that displays a list of processes using the file handle (for details, refer to the "ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Operator's Guide", section "Volume Lock Error Investigation Function"). When this function is enabled, the tool output is saved in the files listed below. Refer to these files to identify which processes are using volume.
Output result of handle.exe -a: Work directory\var\D2D\<Volume name>_Handle_<date and time>.txt
Output result of openfiles.exe /query /v: Work directory\var\D2D\<Volume name>_Openfiles_<date and time>.txt
Output result of tasklist.exe /v: Work directory\var\D2D\<Volume name>_Tasklist-v_<date and time>.txt
Output result of tasklist.exe /svc: Work directory\var\D2D\<Volume name>_Tasklist-svc_<date and time>.txt
Output result of net.exe start: Work directory\var\D2D\<Volume name>_Net-start_<date and time>.txt
Output result of mountvol.exe: Work directory\var\D2D\<Volume name>_Mountvol_<date and time>.txt
<Volume name>:"Device name of AdvancedCopy Manager" or "Volume name of OS"
Refer to the following items under "General notes" in the "ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Operator's Guide (for Windows)" for the conditions that prevent locking and the action required:
"Running software"
"Notes on copying data "
"Notes on using the OS volume shadow copy function"
A lock processing error may occur because of a temporary conflict between the volume that was accessed by the other process and the volume lock processing of AdvancedCopy Manager. In this event, work around the error by changing LockRetryNumber and LockRetryInterval in the volume locking specification file that is used. Then, with LockForceMode set to on, the mounting of the volume is forcibly canceled and the lock processing can continue in a state in which all file handles of the other process are invalid.
For details on the volume lock file operation specification file, refer to the following in the "ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Operator's Guide (for Windows)":
"Transaction volume locking specification file for backups"
"Backup volume locking specification file for backups"
"Backup-restored volume locking specification file"
If the above actions cannot handle this error or the error code is other than 5(FSCTL_LOCK_VOLUME), then refer to the following manual, collect the resources necessary for troubleshooting, and contact a Fujitsu system engineer:
"Collecting maintenance information" in the "ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager Operator's Guide (for Windows)"
