3.7.2 Delete Backup History

This section describes how to delete backup history.

3.7.2.1 Delete a Backup Generation

The user must have at least execution access for backup to delete a backup generation.

  1. Select one or more backup generation objects from the Site view and right-click it to invoke the context menu.

  2. Select the [Delete] item from the context menu to invoke the [Confirm Delete Backup Generation] dialog box.

  3. Enable the [Emergency mode] option, if appropriate.

    For details on the emergency mode, refer to the "AdvancedCopy Manager Operator's Guide", section "Commands" > "Backup Management Commands" > "Operation commands", sub-sections "swsthistdel (History information deletion command)" and "swstcancelsync (Backup synchronous processing cancel command)"

  4. Click [Yes] to delete the selected backup history.

3.7.2.2 Delete All Generations for a Transaction Volume

The user must have at least execution access for backup to delete a backup generation.

  1. Select a transaction volume from the Site view and right-click it to invoke the context menu.

  2. Select the [Delete All Generations] option to invoke the [Confirm Delete Backup Generation] dialog box.

  3. Enable the [Emergency mode] option if appropriate.

  4. Click [Yes] to delete the selected backup history.
