3.7.1 Display Backup Policy and History

Backup history for a specific transaction volume can be viewed in the transaction volume form when you view all devices, or only the transaction volumes for a specific Storage Server.

  1. Select the required transaction volume under the [Backups] node for a Storage Server in the Site view.

  2. The Details view will be refreshed with summary information relating to the selected transaction volume displayed in three separate forms.

The Transaction Volume Summary form will show summary information relating to the transaction volume including the number of backup generations and suggested backup frequency.

The Backup Generations form is a summary of each backup generation associated with the backup policy for the selected transaction volume.

The following information is shown in the Backup Generations form:

    Label

    Description

    Abs. Generation

    Displays the absolute generation number.

If the generation number for the data that was first backed up is 1, the generation number for the new data will be 2.

    Rel. Generation

    Displays the relative generation.

Whenever data is backed up, the generation number for the data that was first backed up is reassigned, so the generation number for the new data will always be 1.

    Backup Volume
