Initialization Configuration File When a data transfer volume was initialized on a UNIX server.
    Solaris/Linux
    • The target initialization configuration file(s) on the /etc/opt/FJSVmftf/ini/ directory
    HP-UX
    • The target initialization configuration file(s) on the /etc/opt/FHPmftf/ini/ directory
When an initialization configuration file was used for initialization a data transfer volume by the Disk Utility on an IA system
  • The target initialization configuration file used for initializing by the Disk Utility

Disk Utility Window during Initialization Collect a bitmap of each window during the initialization using the Disk Utility. mark_a1 mark_a5 mark_a5
Data Transfer Volume Initialization Contents Collect the following information.

[For UNIX]

  • Collect the initialization contents of the target data transfer volume by the mftfdvlst command

[For IA]

  • Collect a bitmap of the window displaying the initialization contents of the target data transfer volume by the Disk Utility
mark_a2 mark_a1 mark_a1
Information of Daemon or Service when executing Collect the following information.

[For UNIX]

  • Collect the command string when starting the daemon (mftfd).

[For IA]

  • Collect a bitmap of the window displaying the initialization contents of the target data transfer volume by the Disk Utility.

Environment Information executing Transfer Command Collect the following information.
  • The shell (b shell, c shell, etc.) when executing the transfer command [for only UNIX server]
  • The execution string including the parameter when executing the transfer command
  • A list of the environment variables when executing the transfer command (collect by set, setenv, etc.)
  • A shell script or batch file which is used when executing the transfer command
mark_a5 mark_a1 mark_a1
Data Transfer Status Collect the following information.

[For UNIX]

  • Collect the data transfer status of the target data transfer volume by the mftfstat command.

[For IA]

  • Collect the data transfer status of the target data transfer volume by the mftfstat.exe command.

core dump
(memory dump)
If the XL-DATA/MV process on the UNIX server ended abnormally, the core dump may be collected to the following locations.
For the transfer command, the current directory on which the transfer command was executed.
For the daemon, it is stored as "core" on the following directories.
    Solaris/Linux
    • /var/opt/FJSVmftf/
    HP-UX
    • /var/opt/FHPmftf/
mark_a2 mark_a2 mark_a2
Crash Address Information If the XL-DATA/MV process on the IA server ends abnormally, make a record of the binary file names (.exe or .dll) and crash address displayed on the message box. mark_a2 mark_a2 mark_a2
Dump for Data Transfer Volume Collect the following information.

[For UNIX]

  • Collect the dump of the target data transfer volume by executing the /usr/mftf/bin/.api/xldmlst command as shown below.

Remarks. mark_a1 : information (file) to collect.
mark_a2 : information (file) to collect if possible.
mark_a5 : unnecessary.
When sending the information (file etc.) to collect, compress them by a data compression utility (such as tar, or zip) if necessary.

If the problem relating to other than the initialization is reproducible, collect the following information in addition to the above.
