2.4.1 Initializing from a UNIX Server
Use the initialization commands when initializing from a UNIX server.
The initialization commands initializes the disk, which is used for data transfers between the UNIX server and UNIX/IA server, to a data transfer volume exclusively for XL-DATA/MV.
Volumes that are not initialized with the initialization commands cannot transfer data.
When performing data transfers between a Solaris server and different UNIX servers, implementing the initialization command from the Solaris server side is recommended.
The following three types of initialization commands are provided:
Command Name | Overview |
mftfdvini |
Initializes a volume as a data transfer volume. |
mftfdvadd |

mftfdvalt |
