2.1.2.1 Installation

Pre-Installation Procedures

• In order to install this software program, the target drive must have 10MB or more disk space available.
• When upgrading, uninstall the previous version, then install this software.
• To reinstall the software, uninstall this software first, then reinstall it.
• The installation folder has the following restriction:
• A network drive cannot be specified.

Starting the Installation Program

1. Start Windows.

2. Place the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.

3. Open the [Add/Remove Programs] tool in the [Control Panel].

4. Make sure the following configuration file does not exist.

ETERNUS SF XL-DATA/MV

If this configuration file already exists, this software has already been installed.
To reinstall the software, uninstall this software first, then reinstall it.

5. Click the [Install] button in the [Install/Remove] tab, then click [Next].

6. Ensure the following text is displayed in the [Command line for installation program:] field, then click the [Finish] button.

CD-ROM drive name:$XLDATAMOVER$SETUP.EXE

(Note: "$" means a backslash.)

Post-Installation Environment Settings

Refer to "UNIX/IA Server Environment Settings" and specify the necessary settings.
