A.2 Disk Storage System Information

The following information is specified for Express as disk storage system information.

Item

Description

Name

This is a name of disk storage system.
You can enter a maximum of 16 one-byte alphanumeric characters and symbols.
However, the symbols of percent (%) at the head of a name, backslash (\), question (?) and comma (,) are unusable.
Default is "ETERNUS****"(**** is a serial number).

Alias

Apart from disk storage system name, this is a name easy to understand "what operation is in progress on this disk storage system".
You can enter a maximum of 16 one-byte alphanumeric characters and symbols.
However, the symbols of percent (%) at the head of a name, backslash (\), question (?) and comma (,) are unusable.
It can be omitted.

IP Address or FQDN

This is an IP address or FQDN(Full Qualified Domain Name) of disk storage system.
When using an IP address, enter IPv4 address.

When assigning IP address to a master CM and a slave CM respectively, enter an IP address (or FQDN) of the master CM.

SNMP Community Name

This is a SNMP community name required to receive SNMP Trap.
You can enter a maximum of 50 one-byte alphanumeric characters, space and symbols below.
'#', '$', '%'(except that it is the head character), '&', '_', '+', '-', '*', '/'

Default is "public".

Username

This is an administrator username of ETERNUS Disk storage system.

Password

This is an administrator password of ETERNUS Disk storage system.

Encryption Mode

"Disable" or "Enable" Encryption Mode of ETERNUS Disk storage system.

Note

If the encryption mode is changed to "Disable", there are the following conditions.

  • ETERNUS Disk storage system must reboot after the change.

  • All the Encryption volume must be removed.
